Middle school rugby starts

Teams in the District 14 Middle School Rugby League have started their 2008 season.

The Hartland Community School, Florenceville Middle School, the Centreville Community School, and Woodstock Middle School will field squads on the new campaign.

Hartland plays its games at the pitch near the Hartland Arena, while FMS' home matches will be at its field behind the school.

Centreville will play its contests at Carleton North High School in Bristol or at FMS, while WMS will be based at Woodstock High School's terrain.

Upcoming games and events are as follows: Thursday, May 22 - WMS at FMS, 6 p.m., HCS at CCS, 6 p.m.; Monday, May 26: CCS at FMS, 6 p.m., WMS at HCS, 6 p.m.; Thursday, May 29 - FMS at WMS, 6 p.m., CCS at HCS, 6 p.m.; Saturday, May 31 - Gathering of the Scots Festival (Baird's Campground in Perth), 11 a.m., Grade 7/8 only; Monday, June 2 - WMS at CCS, 6 p.m., HCS at FMS, 6 p.m.; Thursday, June 5 - HCS at WMS, 6 p.m., FMS at CCS, 6 p.m.; Saturday, June 14 - Year-end jamboree at Carleton North, 10 a.m.
