Western Valley Games June 3

The 2008 Western Valley Achievement Games for local youth will be held June 3 at the Carleton Civic Centre in Woodstock.

The event will be hosted by the Woodstock Recreation Department.

Activities will include washer toss, bean bag toss, billiard putt, Blongo ball, horseshoes, softball throw, bowling, hockey shoot, free swimming, 50m and 100m runs, and tennis.

The event starts at 8:45 p.m. with a registration for athletes.

Opening ceremonies and a banner walk will start at 9:50 a.m.

The games will begin at 10 a.m.

Lunch will be at noon, with closing ceremonies and award from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A social dance and free swimming will follow from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Those who sign up for the event will get a t-shirt, free swimming, a free lunch and a participation token.

Registration forms are available at the CCC during regular hours.

They may be dropped off at the CCC, or faxed to 325-4824.
