Not any ordinary Lark

B5

I think the funniest part about my name is it's a type of bird.

Lark

Hi Carleton County! My name is Lark.

Did you know larks are believed to have come from an Old World family of birds called Alaudidae. There is only one species in North America – the Shore Lark. But, here, it's called the Horned Lark. They are small birds with amazing songs.

I am not a regular lark. I don't fly and sing. But I do run and purr.

As you can tell by my picture, I am super cute. I'm playful, but the people at the shelter say I'm mostly lazy and docile. So, I wouldn't mind lounging around the house with you all day. Did I mention I need a home?

Right now I'm living at the Carleton County Animal Shelter in Debec with about 50 other cats and kittens. The shelter people take good care of us, but we sit here all day waiting to be adopted.

If you have some spare time stop into the shelter. Pick us up, give us a hug, pat us on our heads – we love attention. And, after giving us some attention, you might see how much we appreciate you. And we always will.
