Preventing crime and the flu
Published Tuesday October 7th, 2008

Neighbourhood Watch in the Local Service District of Southampton continues to provide information to residents throughout the area to help make communities safer.

By continuing to support efforts to reduce the incidence of crime-related activities, Neighbourhood Watch works together with neighbours to make healthy communities, secure neighbourhoods and safe homes. The program has been a success because of dedicated leaders and block captains who have put tremendous effort into the program.
Neighbourhood Watch is supporting the Nackawic Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Committee by inviting members and the general public to attend the upcoming information session. The meeting is open to everyone.
Support the "Pan Committee" by attending the special meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. at Sure Life Assembly, 335 Otis Drive, Nackawic.
With the fall season already here, cold and flu season has begun. Come out on Wednesday evening to find out how to protect and support family members, friends and neighbours in time of serious flu or other illness.
For more information on the committee call Nackawic town hall at 575-2241.
Meanwhile, there will be no fall meeting of Neighbourhood Watch, but one is being planned for spring of 2009. For any concerns in the local community contact Dot MacElwain at 575-8286, or call the block captain in the area.
