Survivours who came out for Nackawic's Relay for Life on Friday were encouraged to sign a banner they carried to kick-off the fundraiser.

The reigning Miss Nackawic, Denise Albert, was on hand to give support to her mother Deborah Albert, a cancer survivour, and volunteer, who took part in Nackawic's first-ever Relay for Life, held on Friday and Saturday. "I'm proud of my Mom," said Denise Albert. "She's really great."

Team Italia show their national colours, and great enthusiasm, at Nackawic's 2008 Relay for Life. The fundraiser was held on Friday and Saturday.

The Mechanics and Wenches squad were part of the opening parade of teams.

Charlene Hayes, senior manager of revenue development for the Canadian Cancer Society in New Brunswick, led participants in a cheer during the event's opening ceremonies on Friday.

Entertainment at the relay was provided by local singers and pickers.
