Campbellton’s annual Santa Claus parade is set for Sunday, Dec. 10.
The parade starts in the parking lot of the City Centre Mall at 6 p.m. and travels east along Water Street to the Regional Memorial Civic Centre.
Once the parade is over, there will be refreshments for everyone as well as entertainment and everything is free.
People are encouraged to dress warmly and line Water Street and follow the parade to the Civic Centre.
Concerts scheduled
A pair of Christmas concerts will take place over the next couple of days.
The Campbellton Community Concert Band will be performing Christmas/holiday-themed concerts on Friday, Dec. 8, at the Civic Centre prior to the Tigers hockey game (6:20 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and again on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 1-3 p.m. at Sugarloaf Mall.
New manager hired
Campbellton CAO Manon Cloutier told city council recently when it met for its regular monthly meeting that a new manager has been found for the Regional Memorial Civic Centre.
Cloutier said Skipp Fowler was hired recently and is expected to start the week of Dec. 11.
The centre had been without a full-time manager since the retirement of John LeBlanc, who had been re-hired to serve as manager until a new one was found.
City joins CENB
Council voted in favour of joining the CENB – the Conseil économique du Nouveau-Brunswick.
The cost of the membership is $390, which allows members to attend meetings and conferences organized by the CENB aimed at strengthening economic growth in the province.
