NBCC Woodstock, CBC Radio, the college's students and staff, along with local business people and residents, combined to give a boost to the local food bank.

A charity breakfast in support of the Volunteer Family Services food bank in Woodstock was held last Wednesday, Nov. 26, in the college cafeteria.

The event, which addition to gathering food and money for the food bank, provided the CBC with an opportunity to officially launch its new radio frequency 99.5 in the Woodstock area.

CBC Radio's Barb Roberts, from the Fredericton Morning Show visited the Woodstock campus and broadcast via live remote. She interviewed college officials and local business leaders and reported a successful event, which drew visitors from as far away as Perth-Andover.

NBCC journalism instructor Theresa Blackburn, one of the organizers for this event, said approximately six boxes of food and approximately $210 in cash was collected, courtesy of donations from NBCC Woodstock students, staff and the citizens of Carlton Country.
