Millville outlines Remembrance plans

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #59 in Millville has released the schedule for Remembrance Day and church services.

On Sunday, Nov. 9 at 10:45 a.m., the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church will host a special service followed by a lunch.

On Remembrance Day, Nov. 11, a veterans' parade will form up at Reids' apartments in Millville at 10:30 a.m. The parade march to Veterans' Memorial Grounds, beginning at 10:45 a.m.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion and the auxiliary will be joined by members of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, as well as the Beaverbrook 333 cadet squadron.

Official ceremonies marking the 90th anniversary of Remembrance Day will begin at 11 a.m. Memorial headings, however, will begin at 10:40 a.m.

Following the Remembrance Day ceremonies, Legion member invite the public to join them Branch #59 for a social time.

Noel Nason and Memory Makers will take the stage at 2 p.m. to provide entertainment until 5 p.m.

A potluck supper will follow.

Millville Legion and Remembrance Day service planners encourage all area residents, as global citizens, to join them in celebration of free nations which Canada's veterans played such a major role in securing for future generations.
