D.C. Washington to hold concert

Local musicians to accompany visiting soloist
The public is invited to a free concert featuring D.C. Washington, a Virginia-based singer and recording artist.
The Greater Houlton Christian Academy (GHCA) is hosting this exciting concert on Saturday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at the Houlton Wesleyan Church, Kelleran Street.
Washington will be accompanied for this significant musical event by a full orchestra, a choir of nearly 60 adult members, a Greater Houlton Christian Academy student ensemble, and a praise band.
The doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and GHCA student ushers will be available to greet and assist attendees with seating.
A free-will offering will be taken to benefit the Annual Fund of Greater Houlton Christian Academy.
Featured songs include End of the Beginning, Audience of One, Were You There? and Child of Mine.
The live orchestra is comprised of local musicians, and the adult choir draws its nearly 60 voices from surrounding communities.
According to D.C. Washington, he has recently been asking himself some searching questions.
"Having reached that wonderful milestone of a half century, I think back over my life, analyzing it year by year," he said.
"What have I learned? Now that I've learned it, how am I going to spend the second half of my life being God's servant and applying what He has taught me?"
Arranger and orchestrator Camp Kirkland states D.C. Washington's warm voice "brings a great freshness and sincerity to all of the songs, both old and new."
D.C. Washington, originally from the small town of McGehee, Arkansas, has served his country and his Lord around the world.
He currently resides in northern Virginia with his wife and three children.
