Employees of Carleton Cold Storage (CCS) at McCain Foods join foreman Jason McMann, centre, warehouse manager John McDougall, left, and human resources manager Shaun McBride, right, as they cut the tape marking the official opening of McCain Foods (Canada)’s e-learning café on Oct. 7. This is the fifth e-learning café opened in Canada and the first for the warehouse facility. The cafes will be set up in plants across the country by the end of 2008. The e-learning cafés are part of the McCain Learning Centre, a global virtual learning centre open to McCain employees in all parts of the world. The program offers about 3,000 courses in English and 8,000 courses in total in 21 languages. The programs range from basic courses on time management and computer skills, to specialty courses such as leadership development and programs aimed at sales executives or marketing professionals.
