Hartland Trade Show attracts thousands

The Hartland Fire Department took a financial step forward last weekend when approximately 7,900 to 8,300 people attended the 16th annual Trade Show.
Fire Chief Mike Walton said the money raised during the event will be used to purchase a new equipment truck for the crew.
"We've grown out of our old one," he explained in a previous interview with the Bugle-Observer. "It does not house all of the members. We carry all of our equipment for every one of our members on this truck, and over the last 25 years I guess we've increased a little bit in size."
The estimated value of the equipment truck is approximately $180,000.
On Monday, Walton said the total amount raised at the Trade Show is unknown, but, after paying various bills, the tally should be finalized in about a month.
The amount of guests, plus 161 vendors, shows the event was a success, he added.
"The exhibitors were real happy with the attendance and the amount of business they did," Walton said.
"And I just want to say thank you to all of the people who attended and the exhibitors. The fire department thanks them for their support."
Trade Show guests found information on real estate, insurance, farming and home improvement. They were able to meet people in several employment fields, including electrical, furniture, clothing, and pools and spas. Automobiles, such as tractors and recreational vehicles, were also on site.
