Something doesn’t add up

Dear Editor,

To show that late French immersion is just as good as early French immersion, (Education) Minister (Kelly) Lamrock likes to claim that he learned his French in late immersion.

In fact, this seems to be another one of the many arguments supporting the Croll-Lee recommendations that simply doesn't add up.

Minister Lamrock arrived in Fredericton at the age of 14 – too old to start late immersion offered in Grade 7 – at a time when late immersion was not even offered in the N.B. school system.

Minister Lamrock actually got his level of French through private adult French classes.

And if he runs the FSL (French Second Language) education system into the ditch like he plans to, that will be the only way anglophone New Brunswickers will have a chance to get the bilingual jobs.

Janice Brewer,

Woodstock

You've got to be kidding!!! He has said many times he did late immersion.

The lies that come out of this guy's mouth are shocking.

Thanks for bringing this reality to light. I am glad to see the truth in print, finally.

Not surprising at all. From what I've heard, his French is not nearly as good as he believes.

A core student. Those in his classes can vouch. He lies. Is anyone really surprised?
