Women’s Show not just for women

Would you like a diamond-studded bracelet, a new patio set or a relaxing spa package? Those are just some of the many door prizes available at the Women’s Show happening tomorrow, May 10, at the Carleton Civic Centre in Woodstock.
But despite its name, according to show organizer Tanya Dixon, it’s not just a show for women.
“It’s more of a lifestyle show with something for everyone,” she says.
Over 100 vendors are expected to be set up inside the civic centre. Displays ranging from hair and makeup to landscaping and home renovations are just some of what will be featured.
Along with lots of new and exciting vendors, many are returning who have come to the show since it started three years ago. They are from all around the province with some from Nova Scotia and P.E.I. A trophy and prize will be awarded to the vendor for Best in Show Booth.
There will be lots going on at the show as well.
A Little Miss Woodstock beauty pageant is set for 1 p.m. on the show floor. For dog lovers, the SPCA and Love Puppy Canine Boutique are teaming up to put on a doggie fashion show with adopt-able animals from the SPCA as models.
Miss New Brunswick, Miss Woodstock, and Miss Hartland will be mingling in the crowd, while live stage performances take place.
Admission to the show is $5 for adults and children 12 and under get in for free.
There will be free giveaways from vendors and complimentary services on offer.
“Come to the show prepared to shop,” Dixon says.
