Vacation
It is that time of year when I have started to think about next year and where myself and my wife will vacation and how I can get the most out of the nominated days I have off. We even discussed it the other day and both said the top 5 places we would go if we could, I'm not sure we will make many off the list this year.
Vacation is good for many things, good for the soul indeed. Even the thought of it brings a smile out of people, you see the weight fall off their shoulders when they begin to think of getting away from the situations they currently find themselves in. When I'm going abroad I personally love the feeling of when you get to the airport, once your there you know your not heading back home for a while (unless you find yourself in the unfortunate position of forgetting your passport). I think if I pulled that trick out of the book my wife would declare a divorce pretty soon.
This Christmas we are headed to France for a brief few days, there is already an exciting expectation for the time away, joined with my parents, sister and her husband we know good times will be had. We will look to do as the french do, 3 hour long dinners, flowing amounts of wine, stacks of cheese just so we sleep funny and the belief in father christmas will be back. Long chilly walks in the day, a beautiful coffee to warm us back off and then home to a roaring fire, I can't see why I love getting away so much.
The crossing off days until vacation will now begin.
