New Brunswick flooding to hit record

Note to those still refusing to leave their homes. GET OUT and/or prepare yourself! Government can't fix all of your problems. Those that think the government will bail them out (figuratively and literally) are setting themselves up for massive disappointment.

Update - Downtown Fredericton's resident blogger Charles Leblanc is on the streets (and in the water) taking and uploading excellent photos of the 2008 Flood. Check them out here.

Update 2 - How bad is it likely going to be? This bad.

The government(Feds) 'bailed' thousands out of Lebanon, so-called Canadian citizens. But true live-in-Canada citizens can expect just to float away down the river without a paddle.

Just being facetious.

From a Canadian transplant hometown of Moncton. Cry me a river. I live 35 miles from the nearest river and I have flood insurance, boo hoo! What do you expect if you live on a river?

Most insurance policies use add ons to cover certain kinds of water damage in their homes. Damage from broken pipes, sewer back up and water leakage through a roof or a window if damaged buying a storm or by falling branches and the like. Now on the other hand if you anon 11:27 actually do have a "flood insurance" policy then of course you must know that at least in this county flood insurance doesn't actually cover you for floods. Insurance Canada states it this way -Overland flooding in low lying areas such as water overflowing from a river is never covered. Overland water that finds its way into your basement is similarly not covered- Basically that means any flooding caused by running water be it river, brook, stream or even surface water running into your basement from a torrential downpour is NOT covered by ANY insurance policy. I assume then that you of all people will understand when in the event this happens to you and yours.. you will know where the BooHooing is coming from.
